Common Enquiries
Common questions about our services and process.
General Enquiries
Are you available 24/7?222
How quickly can you arrive?
What should I do immediately if I break down on a motorway?
- Stay Visible: Keep hazard lights on to warn other drivers.
- Stay Safe: If you cannot get off the road, stay inside your vehicle with your seatbelt on. If you are on the shoulder, exit from the passenger side away from traffic.
- Call for Help: Contact Drivon immediately. Do not attempt to fix the vehicle yourself on a high-speed motorway.
Can you safely transport lowered or vintage cars?
Standard tow trucks often have steep ramps that can damage front splitters, exhausts, or side skirts on modified vehicles. Our fleet includes:
- Zero-Angle Slide Decks: The tray lays completely flat on the road.
- Soft-Strap System: We secure vehicles by the tires only, ensuring no metal hooks touch your chassis or suspension components.
Can you move a non-running vehicle I bought on TradeMe?
Buying a "project car" often means it cannot be driven. Unlike many freight carriers who require vehicles to be drivable, Drivon trucks are equipped with heavy-duty hydraulic winches.
We can winch the vehicle onto the truck at the pickup location and carefully unload it at your driveway or workshop.
Insurance & Claims
Do you work with my insurance provider?
Do I call Drivon or my insurance company first?
Roadside Assistance Add-on: Providers like AA or State Roadside have specific dispatch networks. Calling them first ensures your tow is covered automatically.
Standard Comprehensive: Most standard policies cover the car for accidents but not mechanical breakdowns. In an accident, lodge a claim to get a Claim Number, then call us. We can often bill the insurer directly using that number.
